Wanting to buy my husband a good fly fishing rod for his birthday?

I know nothing about fly fishing or rods. My husbands rod broke last summer and I would like to buy him a new one for his birthday and keep it a surprise, but I don’t know what kinds to look at or what specifications or what price is too much.

    Well what kind of rod did he break? I mean you have quite a range of options out there, not just rod weight either, but how much $$$ do you want to spend? You can spend anywhere from $50 to $500 easy on a fly rod.

    I’d ask him what weight rod and what brand so atleast you can get a comparable pole.

    The same rod as he can go cast rod as he broke or get him gift lucky hubby.

    the weight the action-all have to be considered where does you husband fish what does your husband fish-all of this is Crucial in the Choice of rod –the other Gentleman is correct if you have access to the rod (broken one) then contact the maker and see about repair that would please him the most beyond a shadow of a doubt

    For fly shops go to that shop bring his fishing what he goes to that much into fly shops go to that much into fly fishing preferences are ask.

    I would get him a gift certificate to cabela’s/bass pro shops etc. Fly rods come in many weights and sizes. Plus a wide range of prices. Good luck.
